Rooting.

What is rooted does not panic when winds arrive.
What is rooted does not chase safety.
What is rooted becomes a place others steady themselves without knowing why.

You do not need to outrun the world.

You need to become inhabitable to yourself.

Do not ask, “Will this year be good?”

Ask, “Where will I place my weight?”

Hope is not optimism.

Hope is choosing to remain human when contraction would be easier.
