Much of what sustains our lives does so quietly. The chair that holds us. The lamp that lights our evening. The blanket that keeps us warm.
Today, choose one ordinary object that serves you well. Touch it, care for it, or simply acknowledge its usefulness.
To bless what serves is to recognize the care already woven into ordinary life. The practice need not be ceremonial.
Straightening the blanket, dusting the lamp, or resting a grateful hand upon the chair may be blessing enough.
Gratitude does not require us to overlook what is missing. It simply allows us to recognize what is present.
